About Louis

From crafting a classic punt with my father at age 7 to becoming a master of architecture, my journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. Scholarships, including the prestigious Heather Cragg Award, paved the way for me to earn a Master in Architecture degree from MIT. Yet, it was a sailing adventure along the east coast, through Mexico, and down South America that briefly diverted my path, leading me to set up a furniture and cabinet shop in Calgary.

This detour reignited my passion for architecture, and I completed my Masters of Architecture at the University of British Columbia. School was no bore; I balanced it with a role as a steel manufacturing plant foreman to keep my creative spirit alive. Post-graduation, I honed my skills through internships in Philadelphia, Seattle, and Southeast Georgia, eventually working as a freelance Design Architect.

But my true calling emerged when I started creating finely wrought private residences, where I meticulously design and often personally oversee the construction. Luxury is my preference over ostentation, and I let the spirit of a place guide the design and vibe.

In a world where designing and building have become distinct disciplines, I champion the return to the 'muscle memory' of making. The best architecture comes from understanding both conception and execution, a philosophy I uphold in crafting extraordinary homes. I am often the client, designer, and builder, allowing for ongoing discovery and minimizing delays and administrative costs.

As a Master Builder, I approach each project as a unique opportunity, aiming to create homes that inspire the mind and profoundly comfort the body and soul. Join me in the pursuit of excellence, where we do it all to achieve a whole greater than the sum of its parts.
